ABOUT

MISSION AND HISTORY

May 15, 2013, is the day my life changed forever.  At 0344 AM I received a telephone call from our oldest son Zachary to inform me that our son Nathaniel (Natey as I affectionately nicknamed him as a baby) had died as a result of a heroin overdose. Nothing has been the same since. There is not a day that goes by that I don't think about Natey. When I walk past a box of Fruity Pebbles in the grocery store my eyes well up with tears.  Losing Natey is without a doubt the hardest thing that I have ever had to deal with.  I wondered  "What could I have done differently"? , "Should I have been more strict"?, "Should I have been more lenient"?

No one will ever know the answers to those questions, and I decided that if I kept dwelling on the past it would never really be my past, but will remain as the present.  Besides that, questioning every past decision I made would not bring Natey back.

I do believe that Natey is in heaven and that his death has affected many people, My prayer is that through Natey's Place his death will benefit and help save many others,

Natey's Place was inspired by the experiences of Pam and Me, and some friends with similar stories. Our vision for Natey's Place is that it is a safe, faith-based resource for building STRONGER FAMILIES through HEALTHIER MARRIAGES, BETTER LIFE CHOICES AND MORE INVOLVED PARENTING

We want our community to  CONNECT with others in similar situations, GROW their knowledge in parenting skills, life choices, and their faith in God and then APPLY what they learn to their families, children, parents, peers, and their community.
